Regional Underwriters Tap Former Ugtic Execs

Sheri Asbell joins Westcor Land Title as vice president, Texas state manager, while Pam Rodgers was named vice president and Texas agency manager for Alliant National Title.

Two regional underwriters have added former United General Title Insurance Co. executives to help develop independent agency business in Texas.

Westcor Land Title Insurance Co. announces that Sheri B. Asbell has joined the company as vice president, Texas state manager. She previously served as vice president and division counsel for United General Title Insurance Co. (UGTIC), where she was employed since 1998

Meanwhile, Alliant National Title Insurance Co. named Pam Rodgers vice president and Texas agency manager effective April 21. Rodgers is responsible for further developing, marketing and managing Alliant National's Texas Agency programs. Previously, Rodgers was vice president/agency manager for UGTIC.

Asbell is currently serving as president of the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) and has been a member of the TLTA board of directors since 2002. She is also an active member of the New Mexico Land Title Association (NMLTA).

She began her career in private practice focusing primarily on real estate and probate law and also worked as assistant general counsel for a large builder developer in San Antonio. Asbell has been an underwriter since 1989 when she joined Alamo Title as underwriter counsel for Texas and New Mexico.

A native of Oklahoma, Asbell is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and Texas Tech University School of Law. Asbell is licensed to practice law in Texas, New Mexico and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Rodgers brings more than 33 years' experience in negotiations, mediations, educational and marketing instruction and expertise to the Alliant National organization. She is an approved instructor of the Texas Real Estate Commission, is a Certified Real Estate Instructor through the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association, and has conducted over 1,000 real estate seminars.

"It is a privilege to be a part of Alliant National, and in particular, to be in a key role with Alliant's independent agents," Rodgers said. "Throughout my career I have worked to support the independent agent, and I look very forward to working with our agents to help them grow their businesses."
