Alliant National Title Insurance Company Implements Data Security Training

July 01, 2014

Firm partners with New York data security expert to train employees

LONGMONT, Colo. - June 25 – To improve employee knowledge on protecting client information, Alliant National Title Insurance Company, an underwriter that partners with Independent Agents to improve their competitive position in the marketplace, has engaged Real Estate Data Shield to provide training sessions on data privacy and security across its 10 state operating area.

The required training arms employees with a keen awareness of the laws, regulations, and regulator expectations relating to safeguarding non-public personal information.

“Everyone at Alliant National is being trained in data security, privacy and best practices,” said Chief Information Officer David Sinclair. “We are taking these steps to ensure clients' non-public personal information is properly protected in our offices and networks.”

The online training guides Alliant National associates through the different types of personal information, compliance with laws and regulations, lifecycle of files and storage, as well as data-handling operations. Associates are then required to review and acknowledge security and confidentiality policies currently in place at Alliant National.

Based in New York, Real Estate Data Shield’s information security courseware has won two leading industry awards for excellence.

“We’re honored to be a part of Alliant National’s information security compliance initiatives,” says Christopher Gulotta, CEO of Real Estate Data Shield. “Their certificate of completion shows Alliant National takes compliance seriously.”

Launched in 2005, Alliant National employs approximately 40 people full-time and partners with more than 240 Independent Agents in 10 states.

Alliant National is listed among ColoradoBiz magazine’s Top 250 Private Companies. Private companies’ rankings for the list were based on self-reported revenues, and Alliant National was ranked 30 in 2013, up from a rank of 37 in 2012. In addition, the title insurance company was named twice to the prestigious Inc. 5000 List — Inc. Magazine's annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
