Alliant National Title Insurance Company Hosts 2014 Agents’ Conference

May 01, 2014

Independent Agents learn ways to “tame” their business

and raise money for local charities

LONGMONT, Colo. — “It’s (Still) a Jungle Out There” was the theme of this year’s conference for Alliant National Title Insurance Company, a unique title insurance underwriter that partners with Independent Agents to improve their competitive position in the marketplace.

More than 100 Independent Agents attended the event held April 15 to 17 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Agents attended educational workshops that covered such topics as sales generation strategies, organizational culture and resolving conflict, and adopting the American Land Title Association (ALTA) Best Practices framework. In addition, attendees heard from a panel of lenders describing regulatory obligations they face from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Reserve.

The three-day conference included some time to relax and network. Alliant National’s Independent Agents also raised $17,235 for charities during the conference. The monies will be distributed back into local communities of participating agents.

“Continual education is important for our Independent Agents,” said CEO Robert Grubb. “Our goal at Alliant National is to help our agents succeed in a dynamic regulatory environment by equipping them with the knowledge, structure and tactics they need to meet the changing requirements of Lenders and regulators. And we want them to have a good time, too.”

Recently Alliant National Title Insurance successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 1SM SSAE 16 examination covering Alliant National’s processes for approving, monitoring, and reviewing its agents, which results in its agents being designated as Authorized Service Providers of Alliant National. This means Alliant National’s processes are compliant with Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE No. 16), Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization. Under this framework Alliant National Title Insurance’s Independent Agents are reviewed annually against rigorous quality standards.
